Being that we both now have more stability in our income we thought it best to finally start the search for a home. We have been renting a room from my Mom (The Batcave) for a couple of years now but were yearning for more space. We went to a house fair a couple of weeks ago gathered dozens of flyers & visited the places we thought suit us best regarding price, location, and size. The one's on the flyers that looked the best to us unfortunately were way out in the boondocks so no matter how pretty the houses may have been they definitely were not for us.
The thing with Panama is that the City is so overpopulated and there is no longer land or room to build more housing so were going to live a bit far out 20 minutes without traffic, and can be up to 2 hours with traffic depending on the day. It's been a hard decision yes we could have stayed in the City and bought an apartment but might have to sacrifice our lives to pay the bills being that apartment living in the City is getting costlier each year. The houses in the area that we are currently looking at have good pricing but regardless we will still have to sacrifice a lot of things still but it will be worth it because we'll finally have a place to call our own.
There's another housing fair this weekend but we've already pretty much got our eye on a particular home/neighborhood where a close friend of our's has also decided to purchase. My Mom is helping us out with the down payment of the house which we are very thankful for because if not it would be a lot more difficult to pay off. So buying a house has all that has pretty much been on my mind as of late to me it still seems unreal but it really is finally happening.
How exciting - your perfect house is out there, waiting for you both. Me & Dan were thinking about buying a house, but then I went back to university and who knows where we'll end up living when I finish - so we're getting married instead ;) Even if it takes time, just remember that home is what you make it! It'll be so exciting to see how you kawaii-fy your home! x x x
ReplyDeleteWe'll have been married for 5 years this coming July and I never thought it would take this long but we weren't financially stable especially when living with my In Laws. Now's finally the time so I hope that we choose wisely. Miguel saw one house he liked so much that he doesn't want to look at any others yet I still think we should keep our options open but you know Men. ;)
DeleteI wish I could have the same style couches I have in Lineplay....Sanrio and San-X themed couches oh that would be glorious!
