*~Jack Off Jill Reunion~*

I know I should have posted about the Jack Off Jill Reunion the actual day of the reunion but somehow I got sidetracked and only posted about it on my instagram account. Of course upon first hearing that one of my favorite bands from my teenage years was reuniting I was beyond giddy with excitement but sadly could not attend the show myself due to work & of course money for a plane ticket, etc. Either way it was a really exciting moment for me nonetheless and I totally had a fan girl moment when one of my best friends who got to attend the show sent me pictures from the merch booth & of the show she had taken herself. This is one of those once in a life time opportunities that sadly got away because they only plan to reunite for one more show in the UK and will then probably disband again after that.

When asked to describe Jack Off Jill I would describe it as a sound so empowering and sickeningly beautiful that it feels like there is a razor being slashed through your throat as the blood that pours out from it, is chock full of glitter and lollipops. I was always attracted to their RiotGrrl image from early on (Jessicka Addams the lead singer was often drenched in blood while on stage) & gut wrenching vocals. She was cute just as she was scary and that is exactly what made her so endearing and so charming to begin in the first place.

I would often find myself locked in my bedroom while blasting Jack Off Jill & singing my heart out to it. Jack Off Jill forms a huge part of my life and also a huge part of my development as an adult. Their music made me believe that no matter how fucked up the world was that I could continue on living and being exactly who I was. & I did just that I continued on & continued to be who I was instead of following influences from family members & acquaintances at the time. I heard of Jack Off Jill when I was going through a really dark moment in my life and I met one of my best friends by chance while searching for Jack Off Jill fans on the then popular chat ICQ. I do believe it was fate that Jack Off Jill came into my life. Fans of Jack Off Jill will also love Jessicka's current band, Scarling which I to am quite fond of. If you've never heard this band before in your life take a moment to click play on the video below and get ready for the RIDE OF YOUR LIFE. & afterwards you can tell me about it & how their music made you feel.
