I never thought I would have a skull crushing experience I guess that would be the best way to describe what I've felt as late. I've been in the emergency room twice this week first Sunday because I felt really heavy pressure on my skull along with tingling sensations that I had never felt before except prior to this week where I did feel only the tingling but decided to ignore it.
Monday I went to work and was fine all day till late afternoon when the left side of my face started to fall asleep (perhaps better described as a feeling of numbness) it was pretty scary and pretty strange because if I touched my face I could sense my fingers and also could sense inside that part of my mouth with my tongue. When I got to the ER and was near the front desk I stopped in my tracks because I started to feel really dizzy and almost immobile and the numbness feeling just kept increasing even though it was intermittent and not permanent. I got an injection both days and the 2nd day got put on stronger meds one that helps with skull pain and the other which is a muscle relaxer that puts me to sleep. You may remember my post a couple of weeks ago about my agonizing back pain well that ended up leading to this. Pain in my lower back, shoulder blade, neck, and also numbing my right leg ended up going straight to my skull.
I have to wait till the 9th to see a Neurologist as it seems to be a pinched nerve or something that is wrong with my nervous system. I will probably need a cat scan and to get some X-rays to see what is really going on I'm lucky that my job provides health insurance but it only covers the hospital bills partially still that little portion that it does cover helps somewhat.
I hope that my condition can be improved and that this is something I can recover from I don't want to admit it to anyone but I'm slightly scared about all of this even though I'm trying to remain in a positive mindset. It all just seems so surreal like I'm dreaming and none of this is real even though it is. I got approved an emergency vacation from work for a week to rest up and recover. I watched the entire American Horror Story : Coven installment almost in one sitting and loved it from beginning to end as the first two seasons of the show.
I hope that you all have been having a very Happy beginning of October mine hasn't been as happy but I'm not going to let that get me down.
Whoa, I can understand why that freaked you out! I hope the cat scan and x-rays will show you what's the matter and that you will feel better soon. It sounds a little bit like a bad migraine attack or chronic hyperventilation. Sorry for the medical terms ;) I've read up on it because I've got a tendency to faint. Maybe it could also have been caused by stress? Take care Sophie!
ReplyDeleteThank you. =)
DeleteThe medical terms are A-ok sorry to hear that you go through something similar. I've never fainted in my life so I can't imagine how that must be I'd be really scared. It's most likely is stress I probably need to start doing exercise as well. I will promise to take care of myself. <3
